56 youth from Nagaland recruited to army

One day farmers training cum rodent management campaign were held at district agriculture office, Zunheboto on June 14.
Speaking at the programme, chief guest T. Kiheto Sema, deputy commissioner Zunheboto highlighted the farmers on potentiality of vegetable crops which are doing well at lower altitude of Zunheboto district. He also stressed on the need for employing suitable technologies for increasing productivity of crop especially rice whose productivity has remained stagnant for last many years.
While disclosing to the village authority that funds are pumped into every village through various CSS programmes, he urged them to utilize the centralized fund judiciously. He also call upon the village authorities to take up programmes more on productivity works especially food crop production and not to concentrate only on link roads specially under MGNREGA. Resource person Deepak Chetri, technical officer and master trainer explained in detail about menace of rats in relation to bamboo flowering, management and control aspects of rats especially during proliferation period. Alemba also explained the implementation of ATMA programme and benefits.
‘WFD’ at Kohima
Dimapur: The ‘World Forest Day’ (WFD) organized by Kohima district BS/G for tree plantation would be held on June 30 at secretariat complex junction, at 10:30 am. All teachers and Bharat Scout & Guide have been requested to attend the inaugural function compulsorily with complete uniform.
LOU Doyang meeting
Dimapur: Land Owners’ Union (LOU) Doyang hydro electric project has convened an emergency meeting on July 2 at 10am at Doyang I.B. All office bearers have been requested to attend the meeting.
