Phek Area Public Organization (PAPO) has expressed surprise over the rampant corruption involved in the construction of deputy commissioner’s complex in Phek and the manner in which advance payment/withdrawals of cash against the construction of the complex were made when the complex was not even completed. PAPO president Zashevoyi Lohe and general secretary Punesa Rhakho in a press release has appealed to chief minister Neiphiu Rio to intervene on the issue. Drawing the attention the chief minister, PAPO highlighted that construction of the deputy commissioner’s office complex at Phek Hq was started way back in the year 2008 and had come to a grinding halt. The organisation said construction of the complex should have been completed by now as per the terms and condition of the agreement. PAPO also stated the complex was awarded to the people of Phek district through the investiture on first preference basis but regrettably the contractor had failed to fulfill the wishes and desire of the public thereby tarnishing the reputation of DAN government.
