Khekiho-Hazadisa agrees to resolve issue

Following June 17 Hazadisa village incident, a general meeting was convened at Khekiho village June 28 comprising all GBs and VCC of Dhansiripar area headed by Sema Kachari (SK) union, Dhansiripar. A press statement from SK union president Zheshito Chishi and secretary Minist Jidung said the meeting was also attended by Rajya Sabha MP Khekiho Zhimomi, MLA Azheto Zhimomi and other members representing different frontal organizations of Dimasa Khachari and Sumi. “After a prolonged discussion and elaboration about the incident both councils of Khekiho village and Hazadisa village agreed to solve the matter by means of mutual understanding,” they said. At the meeting the GBs of both villages assured to verify themselves the so-called land dispute of the two villages and make a concrete solution by demarcating their village boundary permanently. The meet suggested councils of Khekiho and Hazadisa village to sit for a joint meeting to settle the dispute not later than July 10 next so as to maintain peaceful coexistence between two villages, the release said.
