Nagaland University Non-Teaching Staffs’ Association (NUNTSA) has said it would oppose the presence of Prof.K.Kannan, Vice-Chancellor, Nagaland University during the visit of search committee for next Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University at headquarters, Lumami.
According to NUNTSA president Imchawapang, vice president, Akiya Asumi and gen. secretary Mhonbemo, the vice-chancellor, who is on leave till July 5 next, would be arriving along with the search committee for next vice-chancellor of Nagaland University July 1.
Alleging that vice-chancellor has “absconded” from the University Headquarters, Lumami from June 16, NUNTSA alleged Kannan then availed leave (LTC) w.e.f. June 17 to July 5, which he himself approved. Stating that official order for handing over of charge to acting vice-chancellor was signed on June 6 last, the association said it has seriously viewed that vice-chancellor during his leave period has approved financial payment through email.
