Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) Friday condemned the physical assault on Maj. K. Kuotsu (Ketholebeinuo Kuotsu) and her husband Maj. Deepak Tamor on June 30 at Purana Bazaar, Dimapur by the IRB personnel. In a joint statement, Peter Rutsa, vice president KVYO and general secretary, Medovilhoulie Tsiekha said, the KVYO wondered if this could happen to a lady, what could be the fate of common people? Whatever may be the differences between the state police forces and the Indian Army, if any, female personnel should be treated with respect and tolerance at all cost. KVYO also appreciated the selfless duty of the IR personnel in maintaining law and order in-spite of their shortcomings, but at the same time said such incidents could erase all the hard works done. The KVYO urged the state government to deliver justice according to the law and request both the state police forces (IRB) and Indian Army for mutual respect and tolerance.
