Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, through its media cell Friday, has condemned the bomb blast in Dimapur and attack on Inavi village under Peren district where a total of three people died, five injured, two of them critically.
NPCC also conveyed its condolences to the bereaved families and wised speedy recovery of those injured.
On the attack on Inavi village, NPCC held the DAN government “entirely responsible” for its willful neglect of the problem that turned violent.NPCC pointed that though the heightening of tension that persisted between the two villages, was in the knowledge of the DAN government headed by chief minister Neiphiu Rio, instead turned a blind eye on the problem.
NPCC also blamed lack of will and courage on the part of the chief minister and home minister in solving the pending issue on time and cautioned, both “will bear all responsibilities” in the event of escalation of violence or counter violence.
NPCC also said the IED blast in 3rd Mile Dimapur was not the first such incident involving the business community as it was “another manifestation” that the business community have become the “soft target”.
NPCC reminded of the kidnap and killing of a businessman in Kohima and another in a brick kiln in Dimapur and added that they were “consequences of extortion and illegal taxations”.
NPCC reiterated the charge of lawlessness against the DAN government and added that the recent incidents belied the “tall claim” made by home minister Imkong L.Imchen, that a peaceful atmosphere existed in Nagaland.
In particular, is said home minister Imkong L.Imchen’s failure stemmed from his treatment of the law and order problem as a political problem “ and the recognition given to the anti-social elements as nationalists.” NPCC said when the DAN government turned a blind eye to the “chronic law and order problem” the “desperate public at least expects” the state Governor to “act and bring” the government to task “for breakdown in constitutional machinery”.
NPCC dubbed the DAN government as “corrupt and lawless” and should not be allowed “ a free run at the cost of the suffering public anymore.” NPCC also demanded that the DAN government compensate losses and damages to lives and properties and that those responsible should be arrested and brought to book at the earliest.
