The Pfutsero Area Vegetable Committee (PAVC) has appealed to Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) and Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) not to impose stringent tax on farmers transporting their vegetables to other towns for sale.
Stating that the municipal council should look into the welfare of the farmers by imposing only a minimum of `20-30 at check gates, it however lamented that they are demanding `200-300 per mini truck carrying vegetables, thus making it difficult for farmers to earn any profit.
In this regard, PAVC chairman, Sanyi Dukru has once again sought the cooperation of KMC and DMC and requested them to look into the matter in order to encourage farmers in carrying forward their business.
