Phomching Area Students’ Union (PASU) observed sanitation week from June 25 to 30 within its entire jurisdiction covering 12 federating units. On June 29, PASU officials led by its president paid an official visit to all the federating units to supervise and observe the work done and found that most of the units did satisfactorily whereas some units performed badly which the union viewed seriously.
A press release issued by Khatwang Wangsa, general secretary PASU stated that while interacting with various communitisation chairmen, the union officials came to know that various communitization programmes could not function efficiently due to departmental negligence, inappropriate allocation, corrupt committee members, communication gap, irregularities of the staff, deplorable road condition and lackadaisical attitude of the responsible department.
On irregularity of government employees in electrical, dispensary and education departments, PASU said this approach would be viewed seriously and its officials would continue to check such irregular government employees within its jurisdiction. Further PASU urged the government employees to be regular and sincere in performing their duties lest the union would not hesitate to initiate appropriate action against defaulters.
Focusing on grievances faced by people of Phomching area on proper health care centre, electricity, road connectivity and schools being run by a single teacher, PASU on behalf of the entire populace has appealed to the departments as well as the state government to redress such grievances at the earliest.
Meanwhile, PASU has expressed gratitude to all its federating units for their cooperation and support towards the union and also thanked Konngam MLA 44A/C, Wangchung general secretary ACCI and Sunny APO DRDA Tizit for their contribution towards the union.
