Sumi, Angami regional workers declare support for Gen. Khole Konyak

Sumi Regional workers on July 2 called upon NSCN chairman Gen. Khole Konyak and Gen. Secy. N Kitovi Zhimomi to express and reaffirm their unflinching loyalty and support to their leadership. Regional authorities led by Tatar P Khawoto, Tatar Khakhu and Leacy Speaker Vihoshe Zhimo met the Collective Leadership along with more than 30 regional authorities representing all Sumi regional blocks and affirmed their commitment to the leadership of the new Chairman.
According to a press statement issued through MIP, it was decided that the present situation at Sumi Region arising out of activities of those who opposed Naga reconciliation would be tabled before the Sumi people and therefore the will and decision of the people shall be sought from the populace. Sumi Regional workers unanimously agreed that an expelled leader S.S Khaplang has lost track of the reality of the Nagas in the present juncture.
Besides the collective Leadership, Kilo Kilonser Hothrong Yimchunger encouraged the members present to confront the situation and show themselves as bravehearts for the Naga Nation.
In a separate release, the GPRN/NSCN Angami Region chairman, Apelhu Kruse stated that a regional meeting held on July 2 declared full support and confidence in the leadership of Chairman Gen Khole Konyak and N Kitovi Zhimomi. The region affirmed that the impeachment of former Chairman and President S.S Khaplang was in the best interest of the Naga people. The mandate of the Nagas was for reconciliation and anyone who opposed Naga reconciliation was against the Naga people and therefore should be left out, the region added.
