Aboi Area Students’ Union (AASU) has urged the state government to look into the grievances of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Aboi under Mon District, which is the only higher secondary school in the sub-division.

In a press release, AASU president, Mankhat Kaihi highlighted the issue of lack of adequate classrooms for students of GHSS Aboi and urged the government to immediately sanction funds for construction of additional classrooms.

The union said that despite increase of students seeking admission in the school, GHSS Aboi has been unable to accommodate more students due to inadequate number of classrooms.

As immediate measure, the union said it constructed a class room so that the school could accommodate students seeking admission in Class 11.

The union also highlighted the shortage of benches and desks and urged the concern department to look into the grievances of the school at the earliest.
