AATC rejoinder to KU(B) Tobu

DIMAPUR, JAN 21 (NPN) | Publish Date: 1/21/2020 11:39:20 AM IST

Three days after Konyak Union (Branch) Tobu served an ultimatum on the state government to retain Mopong circle under Tobu administration on or before January 25, the Angjangyang Ad hoc Town Committee (AATC) Tuesday termed as “very unfortunate” that the KU (B) Tobu, a branch of KU apex body, has stooped so low by interfering in the interna; affairs of administrative setup of other assembly constituency.

In a press release, AATC chairman H Wanme accused the KU(B) Tobu of encouraging certain individuals with vested interest to manipulate and disrupt peaceful coexistence in the area. AATC chairman pointed out that state government created Angjangyang SDO(C) keeping in mind the genuine requirement of the concerned area.

It stated that the state government in 2014 had accordingly issued a separate notification order with regard to restructuring of administrative jurisdiction where it had clearly stated that Mopong EAC circle was brought under Angjangyang SDO(C) for the convenience of the general public as well as for the smooth functioning of government related activities since both administrative jurisdiction fell under 48 Moka A/C.

In the light of the above, AATC chairman has appealed to all responsible individuals and NGOs of neighbouring constituencies to refrain from “meddling in our internal affairs”. AATC also warned that “if any untoward incident arise in the future, he/she/group shall be held solely responsible.”
