Acharya lays foundation stone for Shree Jagannath Temple

Nagaland Governor P B Acharya along with his wife Kavita Acharya laid the foundation stone for Shree Jagannath Temple and Lakshman School at Narep Timung Goan, Khatkati on July 15 in the presence of Dr. NumalMonin, MLA, Bokajan. 
The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by large number of people from Bokajan, Khatkati and Dimapur. 
In his address, Governor said temples are a place to create a better man and better person. 
He said it is a place, where all bow down and feel to be part and parcel of the society. Reiterating that unity in diversity was the peculiarity of the country, he said, “We should be proud that we all are citizens of India, a great Country, spiritually and culturally”. 
On the occasion, the governor recalled how the great country was invaded by invaders like Mughals and British and people were forced to slavery. 
“They conquered us and made us slaves because we were divided on the basis of language, cast and creed”, he said. 
He added that Temple should give people the strength to stand united. 
He also lauded Dr N C Mohanty of Dimapur for donating the land for Shree Shree Jagannath Temple and said decision of Shree Jagannath Seva Samithi Trust to start a School and Healthcare Centre along with the Temple would strengthen the society.  The governor called upon the devotees present to strengthen the society through education by saying that when we educate a girl child, we educate a family and society.  
Dr.Numal Momin, MLA also addressed the gathering. Foundation stone for Health Unit and School Projects of JSS Trust was done by Kunja Nayak, president, JSS Trust and Dr N C Mohanty. Vote of thanks was said by Rama Chandra Panda, secretary, JSS Trust. The function was also marked by cultural songs, dances, etc.
