Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) organized a gratitude function for Nagaland Governor P.B. Acharya and award ceremony for Rajya Puraskar Scouts and Guides 2019 at the Conference hall, Life Members’ Building State Headquarters, here on Tuesday.
Acharya, who is also the chief patron of NSBSG, gave away the Rajya Purashkar 2019 certificates to the 21 Scouts and 17 Guides from Kohima and Dimapur.
Delivering a short speech, Acharya reiterated that education empowers a person to become better and contribute back to the society. 
In this regard, he said education was not only about receiving a degree and earning more money but the goal should be to serve the society.
He also said that in spite of all the efforts, so far many schools and students were not lucky enough to be members of scouts and guide movement. 
He stressed on the need to strengthen the weakest link in order to spread to scout and guides movement to all the schools giving special attention to the government schools across the state. 
He also encouraged the students to join the scouts and guides movement with the intention to serve the society. Acharya also said that it was the duty of all to strengthen the family, tribes, community and the nation. He encouraged the younger generation to change their mindset adding that they were fortunate to get supplementary education through scouts and guides movements. He further appealed to the authority to go to the interior parts of the state and start the movement so that every deserving student will get the opportunity to be part of this movement. 
Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports and president NSBSG, Er. Zale Neikha in his presidential address, congratulated the awardees and further encouraged them to strive for President’s award which is the highest in the country. He said that Bharat Scouts & Guide is a voluntary, non-political and educational movement for young people and is open to all. He said the main objective of the movement was to educate the young minds through value system and to help build a better world with selfless individuals playing a constructive role in the society. 
Zale also expressed gratitude to the Governor for taking various initiatives for the welfare of the people like promoting water harvesting, use of solar energy construction of vermin compose pits and introduction of e-governance. 
State chief commissioner Atuo Mezhür Sekhose in his words of gratitude, thanked Archarya for visiting Scouts and Guides office by providing tiffin every Tuesday. Citation and cash awards were also given to units which have produced Governor’s awardees this year.
