ICDS projects in various districts have been conducting programmes under Poshan Maah to improve nutrition of children, pregnant and lactating mothers during the month of September.

Kiphire: Rashtriya Poshan Maah under Longkhim project was held on the theme “awareness camp for adolescent girls on health issue” on September 24 at DUDA hall Longkhim town.
A press release informed that, additional deputy commissioner, Longkhim, Kikumsungla Jamir spoke about Legal Marriage Act and its uses. While discouraging early marriage, she exhorted the gathering to be aware of the legal marriage Act.
Speaking on the theme, Dr. Thangtila said that unless one was matured enough, one should not plan for marriage and encouraged adolescent girls to maintain good health. Dr. Thangtila further asked the gathering to keep away from any unwanted activities which affect the mind and soul.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by supervisor, Phungpila K. Sangtam, welcome address was delivered by CDPO Longkhim C. Tsalito Sangtam, women pastor TBC, Throngpila pronounced benediction and associate pastor LTBC spoke on spiritual health.
Noksen: ICDS Noksen project conducted various activities from September 14 to 19.
An official press release stated that, a programme on anaemia screening for adolescent girls and health and nutrition was held at PHC Noksen. Altogether 21 male and 33 female were screened on that day.
Mothers’ meeting was also organised at Noksen village to sensitize mothers on topics such as COVID-19 and breast feeding, nutrition, support for maintenance in the development of kitchen gardens and identification of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) children.
Cleanliness drive was conducted in and around Noksen town by the team of ICDS Noksen project with the help of students’ body and the community. 
Cooking competition was held at guest house, SDO (C), Noksen. Participants were assigned to prepare food from locally available fruits and vegetables. Noksen village was placed in the first position while Litem village and Noksen town came second and third respectively.
Earlier, CDPO Noksen emphasised on organic farming and the importance of maintaining kitchen gardens.
Jalukie: ICDS Jalukie project under the department of Social Welfare conducted an awareness programme at Lamhai village council hall, Lamhai village on September 24.
According to DIPR report, CDPO Jalukie, Namhuheing spoke on nutrition and kitchen garden. He informed that a proper diet can ensure and enhance the body in proper state.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by supervisor Jalukie project, Meyie Kronu while block coordinator, Pauram Zeliang demonstrated hand washing and vote of thanks by AWW, Heipeuhangle.
Niuland: Poshan Maah 2020, cooking competition was conducted at CDPO’s office on September 25, in convergence with NSRLM (RD) Niuland. 
A press release by CDPO, Niuland, Sentimenla Pongener, stated that coordinator, Poshan block, Olive, chaired the programme, and stated in brief about the importance of mothers in the role of improvement of nutritional status of a family. 
SHGs and Anganwadi workers from five villages took part in the competition. Judges for the competition were block programme manager, Kheboto, area coordinator, Hetoka and CDPO, Niuland, Sentimenla Pongener. 
Winners were awarded with certificate of recognition along with cash awards, while all participants walked away with cash prizes and certificate of recognition.
