Agricultural Engineering Graduates’ Association of Nagaland (AGEGAN) concluded its 2nd general conference at Ungma Kiti, Kohima on February 8, graced by Er. Limasunep Longkumer, dy. director, S&WCD and Er. Meshenlo Kath, convenor, CTAN.

A press release from AGEGAN info & publicity secretary stated that, Er. Limasunep in his speech said agricultural engineers have a wide scope within the various departments of the government. However, at present there were hardly one or two departments accepting agricultural engineers, whereby he encouraged the unemployed agricultural engineers to venture out into the agri businesses and entrepreneurship. Er. Meshenlo lamented that sufficient posts were not being advertised due to the backdoor appointments and poor accountability of the departments of state government. He stated that such associations were needed to ensure that every graduate gets every opportunity to sit for the state public service exams.

The conference saw the election of the new office bearers for the session 2020-22 wherein, Er. Nentilo, was elected as the new president, AGEGAN along with his council of executives.
