Programme for coordination meeting of senior officers with APC and commissioner secretary Kikheto Sema was held at the directorate of Agriculture conference hall on July 9.

A press release stated that, APC and commissioner secretary Kikheto Sema addressing the meeting said that even during this pandemic, agriculture sector and farmers cannot be stopped in agricultural activities. He added that Agriculture department was one of the important mother department of all the Agri allied sectors that will continue to improve income generation and production. He also said that it was time to bring together all the Agri allied departments in order  to achieve  the goals, and to build the bridge in double production and farmers income generation. Kikheto stated that Agri allied sectors has huge responsibilities and challenges ahead of Corona pandemic, whereby he encouraged the department to uphold their duties with cooperation and coordination. He also assured that his full cooperation will be with the departments.

Stressing on the huge scope in the field of agriculture, Kikheto Sema emphasised on the need for agriculture, saying that one has to go back to the fields and Nagas have to depend on own products.

Kikheto sharing over the huge number of Naga people returning back from other states due to the pandemic, said that agriculture would be the only sector which could employ the youths in the absence of  big industries in the state. Sema also opined that it was going to be a huge challenge for the state, and therefore there was importance of creating awareness in the minds of the people and how to tackle with those in Agri allied sectors.

During the meeting powerpoint presentation on department programmes, activities and schemes was presented by joint director Agriculture (Planning) Letkholal  Hangsing 

Programme was chaired by director Agriculture M. Ben Yanthan and vote of thanks was delivered by joint director (Admin) B. N Phom.
