Ahthibung park revamped

Ahthibung Running Club (ARC), Songlhuh Youth and Students' Union (SYSU) and Ahthibung Youth and Students' Union (AYSU), mother associations of Kuki villages and village authorities organized a thanksgiving program on December 29.

A press release from ARC media secretary, Lhingneilhai Singson stated that, ARC, SYSU and AYSU with support from Assam Rifles had painted the walls of Singsung Ngaicheng Memorial Park (SNMP), Ahthibung. The thanksgiving program marked the success of this endeavour.

The Assam Rifles financed the gate lamps besides the materials for painting the walls of the memorial. They have been painted in Kuki tribal colour patterns.

During the thanksgiving program, an official representative of Ahthibung Post of Assam Rifles Jalukie Battalion emphasized on preservation of tribal culture for the future generations. Ngamseh Chongloi, head GB in-charge Ahthibung; Hellam Singson GB Ahthibung; Thangtinmang Singson GB Ahthibung; Haokam Sitlhou GB Ahthibung; Ngulminlen Singson general secretary KIN; John Singson secretary Town Committee Ahthibung; Jangkhopao Thomsong, chairman AYSU; Aphal Singson; and Lhaineng Hangsing, chairperson KMA Ahthibung attended the thanksgiving program.
