Aghunaqa area, comprising of 38 villages, including Aghunaqa EAC (HQ), with an approximate number of two thousand households, is facing immense hardships due to excessive billing because of technical defects in the three phase billing system.

In a press release, Aghunaqa Kukami Kuqhakulu (AKK) president, Mughavi Awomi and general secretary, Hetoi Katty stated that the sums amount to a total of Rs. 15,000 for each phase, with a total of Rs. 35,000 to 45,000 for the three phases each month, in each village.
According to AKK, despite repeated appeals to the executive engineer (Electrical), Chumukedima Division, Dimapur, the problem still persists due to “adamant attitude of the concerned officers.”
Considering the seriousness of the matter, AKK urged the authorities to immediately look into this public grievance and rectify the technical problems as the villagers cannot pay such amounts.
