AKM conducts surprise checking

MOKOKCHUNG | Publish Date: 8/7/2019 12:19:36 PM IST

Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) conducted a surprise checking of the AKM census card in and around Mokokchung town on August 7. The volunteers during the checking rounded up defaulters of around 120 non-locals on various counts including expired cards, non-renewal, non possession and even some with non ILPs.  Those ILP defaulters were later handed to the district administration and police for further course of action while AKM card defaulters were let off after making them understand to renew/apply fresh for the AKM census card.

Meanwhile, the office of the AKM has appealed to all the public to keep on extending their continued cooperation towards this issue (illegal immigrants) and has further solicited cooperation especially from the locals adding that the issue has to be fought with hands joined together.
