Alemla bags  ‘Gov-Acharya’s award’

Social worker, Alemla Chang received the “Governor-Acharya’s award” for promotion of skill development among Chang women at the programme organized by Changsao Thangjam Setshang (CTS) at CTS hall, Tuensang on June 13. 

According to DIPR, Alemla received the award for her contribution towards the community by providing free training on tailoring, embroidery, beads making, stitching, weaving etc. to help the women in empowering themselves to be self-reliant and to be employed. 

She has been giving free trainings since the year 2010 in different categories and preserving the traditional attires of the Chang community. 

According to her, the motive behind was to provide employment and contribute towards the society with greater returns. 

The programme was chaired by Chubala, executive chairman CTS and graced by DC Tuensang, Mohammed Ali Shihab as the special guest. 

Speaking at the occasion, the DC challenged the gathering to take the achievement of Alemla as a stepping stone for greater heights and stated that she deserves the honour. 

The programme was attended by Nungsanglemba, President Chang KhuleiSetshang (CKS), Chingmak Chang, President Chang Gazetted Officers’ Associaton (CGOA) and the women folk representing each Chang village.
