All DG Set users asked to obtain NOC

Chief Electrical Inspector (CEI), Kohima has informed all Diesel Generator (DG) Set users to obtain “No objection certificate” (NOC) from the office before commissioning. 

A press release by CEI, Kohima, Er. I V Chishi, stated that due to faulty connections and improper earthing while installing DG Set, a number of cases on electric current “back charging” on faulty distribution lines have caused fatal electrical accident to the staff, who were at work. 

In many cases, earthing of DG Set and power lines were combined which should not be, the release stated. The CEI informed that the notification is applicable even to those who have already installed and using the DG Set.

It further cautioned that failure to comply with this notification, penalty as applicable shall be imposed after determining the seriousness of the case.
