Along meets Union Minister and central officials

 Minister for Higher Education and Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along met the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan at his official residence in New Delhi on July 20.
Nagaland House, PRO (IPR), in a press release said that Along apprised the Union Minister about the state’s educated youth who show potential for the hospitality sector, arts and craft etc. He requested the union minister to help the Naga youth with relaxation in the guidelines and improvise approaches according to their needs.
The union minister immediately asked his official team to sit with the minister to formulate a road map for skill development and entrepreneurship training programs in Nagaland. In continuation to the discussion, the ministry of skill development officials called on the minister at Nagaland House and interacted with him. The ministry officials thoroughly discussed their ongoing projects in the state.
The ministry officials said that there were 250 courses in the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship of which only few were taken up in the state. The state government can add many more programs in addition to the present courses. The resource person for training the trainees could be sourced from other states and the private sector, they added.
Under the PMKVY program, 20% of students can also go out to other states for training in any course under the skill development program. In the central ministry there are 18 ministry run skill training in various field. The central ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship officials will soon visit the state for 2 days to conduct awareness workshop programs on the skill development. The central ministry officials in the meeting were: i) Sunita Sanghi (IES) Senior Advisor and Director General, Ministry of Skill Development & Entreprenuership (MSD&E); ii) Rajesh Aggrawal, Director General & Joint Secretary, MSD&E; iii) Mahendra Singh Payal, Head PMKVY NSDC, MSD&E; iv) Nishtha Vengurlekar, Coordinator, North East and LWE areas; v) Dr. Manoj Kumar APS Union Minister, MSD&E and 3 (three) other officials.
From the state, advisor H. Haiying; advisor, Dr. Longriniken; NEPED chairman Kevechutso Duolo; dy. resident commissioner Nagaland House New Delhi, Kethosituo Sekhose and Kuolie Mere PRO (IPR) also attended the meeting.
