Anemia screening and awareness camp in Satakha

Satakha ICDS project, in convergence with Medical department and School Education, organised one-day Anemia screening and awareness camp under Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan on September 19, at GBs hall Satakha. 

According to DIPR, a short introductory programme was held before the launching of the camp, where ADC Satakha T.L. Kiusumong Thikir, graced the occasion as guest of honour. 
Medical officer, Satakha, Dr. Mark Keyho in his short speech, enlightened the gathering on Anemia and its ill effects on the overall health of the people especially women.
Out of 94 members, who were screened, 52 were adolescent girls and eight were tested positive. Among pregnant (12) and lactating (30) women, who were screened, one was tested positive for anemia. PHC Satakha provided free IFA tablets to all the members, who were tested positive for anemia. 
Free sanitary pads were distributed to all the members by ICDS project Satakha.
