Angami elders react to report

DIMAPUR, OCT 8 (NPN) | Publish Date: 10/8/2019 11:27:59 AM IST

Angami elders have expressed shock over a report of the NSCN (I-M) during its consultative meeting with the public on September 21, 2019 that “the state of Nagaland will cease to exist”.

In this regard, a joint statement signed by 10 Angami elders said two concerned Angami elders met Nagaland Governor on October 4, where the latter gave the two “a very strong assurance that the content of the report absolutely has no value.”

The signatories alleged that it was not the first time that the NSCN (I-M) had attempted to spread such false propaganda to bewitch the minds of the public of Nagaland.

Therefore, the signatories said a number of Angami elders met on October 7, 2019 at Hotel URA and decided to issue a joint statement “of their conviction that the import of the IM is absolutely false.”

The signatories include--  Kethozhapu Sahu, Vimeho Khazo, Dr. Salie Iralu, Tsilierie Sakhrie, Thepfülhouca Kinyü, Zhasilhoutuo Makritsü, Ningusie Meyase, Siekuolie Mezhier, Kevisiezolie Suohu and Thepfulhouvi Solo.
