All Nagaland Government College Teachers Association (ANGCTA) has expressed concern over the allegations and counter allegation on ANCSU agitation especially with regard to the scholarship issue.

In a press release, ANGCTA president, Lily Angami and general secretary, Dr. Kekhrieseno Christina while extending solidarity and support to the scholarship issue requested the responsible authority for timely disbursement of scholarship with transparency and accountability.

ANGCTA also condemned the assault on innocent students who had staged a democratic protest in Kohima on June 4, 2019.

ANGCTA stated that the welfare of the students is “uncompromised primary duty” of the teachers.

The association has, therefore, impressed upon its members to be more committed and diligent in discharging their duties.

Maintaining that Nagas were vulnerable to tribalism and have experienced destruction to Naga society in many ways due to it, the association said ANCSU scholarship issue was purely on merit and for the common interest of Nagas and in no way related to tribal colours. It, therefore, urged all sensible persons to be ethical and judicious on the use of social media.
