ANMs, CHOs trained on HIV and Syphilis

A total of 31 Sub-Centre Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) and Community Health Officers (CHOs) of Dimapur district were trained on HIV and Syphilis at the one-day training on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Syphilis organised by District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) and National Health Mission (NHM) Dimapur on July 12 at the Conference Hall of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur.

A press release by CMO office stated that in his welcome address, CMO Dimapur, Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, said Dimapur being one of the highest prevalence districts in Nagaland, collective effort and contribution was required to find out and curb the problem. 

He encouraged the ANMs to be acquainted with the knowledge on HIV & AIDS and syphilis and to start testing the patients so that everybody would know their HIV and syphilis status.

Resource person, DIS DAPCU, Orenthung, spoke on the basic on HIV and syphilis. 

The programme was chaired by DPM NHM, Esther Thirah; basic on PPTCT and programme guideline was highlighted by DTO-cum-DACO, Dr. Kavito Zhimomi; counselling on HIV was shared by DPO DAPCU, Mecievinuo and M&E assistant DAPCU, Temsuyanger Aier, highlighted on maintaining of datas and reporting at the Sub-centre level. Later, a demonstration on HIV and syphilis testing was shown to the participants by laboratory technician Dhansiripar CHC, Temsu.
