Anoop takes charge as DC Dimapur

Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi, who assumed office on October 28 convened  meeting with Dimapur District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) members on October 29, to take stock of the flood situation in Nagaland and precautionary measures for combating the situation.

According to DIPR, in the meeting, Anoop expressed concern over the flood situation in Dimapur and enquired about the challenges faced, to which officials from Home guards and Dimapur District Disaster Management Authority cited shortage of equipment, manpower and need for trainings as they worked in risky situation. 

Kinchi also stressed on the need for devising a mechanism so that affected people could provide first hand information to the authority concern during disaster. It may be noted that incessant rains in the last week caused extensive damages in many parts of the state. Over 8,000 people have been reportedly affected as 13 villages in Dimapur district flooded with many houses being submerged.
