Another blast in Imphal; no casualty reported

After a hand grenade blast in Imphal that injured  two CRPF personnel on duty on , a blast was reported on Saturday at the premise of a community hall in Imphal’s Kwakeithel, on the side of Imphal Airport road around 5.30 pm. No injuries were reported in the blast. Police suspect a hand grenade exploded at the empty compound of the community hall. However, police who conducted spot investigation soon after the blast has not ascertained the exact nature of the blast. None of the militant groups so far have owned up the two blasts in the capital city area where security has been tightened also considering series of blasts in the first week of November coupled with people’s movement as part of alert campaign on Naga peace talks of the Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI). As part of the alert protest, COCOMI had already announced boycott to the Manipur Sangai Festival due to commence from Nov 24.
