AR imparts jungle warfare training to NPSTF

Training on counter insurgency and  jungle warfare was imparted to two companies of Nagaland Police Special Task Force (NPSTF) by Assam Rifles units at Wokha and Phek from June 13 to July 14. 

According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), in addition to honing basic battle crafts drills and firing practice, deliberate training on cordon and search, raid on insurgent camps, establishment of mobile check posts, counter ambush and IED drills were imparted. Special focus on intelligence gathering, surveillance operations and media interaction was also conducted during the four-week training.   
The training was successfully culminated by 72 hours validation exercise where IGAR (N) inspected and validated various exercises on counter insurgency operations and jungle warfare drills at Phek on July 9.
On July 16, Wokha Battalion of Assam Rifles, conducted a lecture-cum-demonstration on cordon and search operation which was witnessed by DGP Nagaland, T John Longkumer, Inspector General IGAR (North) and other Police and Assam Rifles dignitaries. DGP Nagaland appreciated and thanked Assam Rifles for the initiative of imparting successful training to Nagaland Police on CI/CT and jungle warfare at Wokha and Phek.
