AR jawan killed, 3 injured in Manipur blast

An Assam Rifles jawan was killed and three other injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion near Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur’s Kamjong district on Monday,
Manipur based rebel group, Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) owned up the attack saying it was performed by cadres of its armed wing People Liberation Army (PLA) under its “Tactical Command”. 
Three other soldiers were also injured in the explosion suspected to have been carried out by a rebel group at Kangpat Khunou village under Kamjong police station of Kamjong district early today morning, around 9.20 am. Police identified the deceased as N Subash Singh (rifleman no. 3101952) of C Coy of 31 Assam Rifles, a native of Manipur’s Khangabok village of Thoubal district. 
The injured personnel have been evacuated at Leimakhong Army hospital, the source added. 
They said that the IED exploded when Assam Rifles troopers were on a routine foot patrol near the Manipur sector of Indo-Myanmar border pillar no. 96. Rifleman Subash Singh body was found partially mutilated. The blast was so powerful that it created a pit of around three feet in diameter.
RPF, through a e-mail statement late evening, claimed the attack saying that it was performed by cadres of PLA under its Tactical Command saying that it was part of armed campaign to free Manipur from the colonial yoke of India.
