AR seize IMFL worth over Rs 1 cr in Kohima

Kohima Battalion Assam Rifles (AR) conducted an operation based on specific information about Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) warehouses located in the general areas of Old NST, Naga Check Gate and New Market on March 23. 

According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), the raiding team seized a total of 2,294 cases of IMFL worth approximately Rs. 1,06,43,270. The illegal liquor, the release stated, was being supplied to various locations in Kohima town and areas around these warehouses. The seized liquor was handed over to the Police department.

Excise Mon seize IMFL

A joint operation by Excise personnel from Tizit and Mon, between Mon-Namtola road, from March 22 to 25, led to the seizure of 1392 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a capsized Mahindra Bolero pickup vehicle.

H. Phuton Minyan, superintendent of Excise Mon, in a press release stated that during patrolling, a vehicle bearing registration number AS04 AC 6908, had capsized into a drain/nullah, near Mon village junction at about 11 pm. 

According to the press release, after enquiry, when Excise personnel searched the vehicle, it was found loaded with 1392 bottles of liquor, concealed under paddy husk. 

The vehicle along with the IMFL were seized and no one has claimed the seized articles or the vehicle so far.
