Arms dealer held in Manipur

A combined force of police and Assam Rifles in Manipur arrested an arms dealer and recovered three arms ; two AK rifles with magazines and a 9mm pistol.

A police source said that the arms dealer - Md Riyajuddin alias Tomba (38) of Lilong Turel Ahanbi was nabbed by a combined force of police commands and troops of 6 Assam Rifles from Lilong Bazar in Thoubal district  at 7.30 pm on Saturday.

The arms with magazine were recovered when the combined force raided the house of the arms dealer based on his disclosure, the police said.

After registering a case against the arrested person, the police have initiated an investigation if he was a member of arms traffickers, the police added.
