 Arshilu Ozukum and Band emerged as the winner of the Top Acts Season-3 held under the theme “Solar Energy – Clean Energy” during the grand Finale held at Kohima Capital Convention Centre on January 25. Top Acts is a platform for young people, conceptualized by Family Planning Association (FPA) India, Nagaland branch as part of its adolescence education programme and Life Skill development.

The winners walked away with cash prize of Rs. 10,000 sponsored by 4Life and 6 months music course from Creative Music Academy. The first runners-up David Rutsa a.k.a ‘Coffee’ has received Rs. 5,000 cash prize sponsored by Beat Devices with gift hamper of instrument Ukulele sponsored by Music Garage while Bidhan Thapa bagged the second runners-up and received cash prize of Rs. 5,000 sponsored by Gear Heads.

All the participants received gift hampers and discount coupons from Beat Devices, the judges were Mengu Suokhrie, Percy Medo, Senti Longchar (Desert King) and Lozino Noswe.

Programme officer, FPA India Nagaland branch, Akangkokla Namo presented a slide show on solar energy, benefits and sustainability of green solar energy which is ideal for rural and difficult areas, isolated from conventional power grids besides job creation and non-polluting and inexhaustible unlike fossil fuels.

Top Acts was organized with an aim to help young people make crucial life decisions, to guide and give education to enable them to attain the level of maturity to make responsible and informed decisions. Top Acts was therefore initiated to be a safe space for young people to express themselves, channelize energy and grow with positive vibes through nurturing and mentoring.

All young people under 25 years are eligible to participate and compete at the grand finale. MYC Top Acts is conducted every 4th Saturday of the month supported and sponsored by 4Life, LifePro Sound Solutions, India Trail, Gear Heads, Vision Trinity Club, Music Garage, Beat Devices, Lady Ruo Boutique, Creative Academy of Music, Imagi.NATION, Naga Talent Blog, Castle Group.
