ASHA monthly meeting held in Phek

ASHAs of Phek held monthly review meeting at CMO conference hall, Phek on September 1.

A press release by NHM Phek district media officer, Kutolu Nakro stated that, DPO RCH/UIP Phek, Dr. Kolhitso Khalo, briefed the ASHAs on their roles at the upcoming Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) programme which will be observed from September 1 to 14. 

During the fortnight ASHAs will be visiting households, with children below 5 years of age and identify diarrhoea cases and refer to ANM/health facilities. They will also give awareness on the importance of ORS & Zince during the home visits. Their registers and activities maintained were reviewed and discussed. Activities on Home Base New Born Care (HBNC) where the Ashas have to visit new born 7 times within 42 days have been reviewed and were reminded to continue their visits. ASHAs were also instructed to identify those pregnant women and refer for ANC.
