All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) chief advisor Samujjal Bhattacharya said that the state board exams will not be held in July as per discussion. Further, the month of August has been decided as a tentative month to hold the board exams, reports The Sentinel Assam.

Meanwhile, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu will hold a discussion with the Assam CM and within 10 days, a final statement will come keeping in mind with the discussions done today. Speaking at a press conference, the AASU and All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has forwarded a three-subject formula for the students and the state government has to take a decision on the same.

Notably, the student’s leader urged the government to make the announcement with regards to the exams public so that students can proceed with the schedule. On the other hand, the Assam state Education minister said that an SOP for the state board exams will be forwarded in the coming days. Earlier, Ranoj Pegu said that the HSLC and HS examinations will be held after the COVID situation improves in the state. He said that if COVID-19 cases reduce to 1%, the examination will be conducted. Pegu said, “We will be in a comfortable position to hold the exams if the COVID positivity rate comes down to 1%. It has come down significantly from 10%, in some districts it is down to 2%. The exams will be in a modified manner, maybe time-wise, may be paper-wise.”
