Assam Rifles civic action programmes across Nagaland

Various battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) provided assistance and conducted distribution drives at different locations.

Kiphire Battalion: Kiphire Battalion provided transport facility to ferry 24 residents from Kiphire to Pungro for home quarantine in their respective villages. All 24 were Chennai returnees who had completed institutional quarantine at Kohima and moved to Kiphire on June 12. 

Mokokchung Battalion: Mokokchung Battalion assisted district administration Mokokchung on June 15 by handing over 1500 improvised face masks. The masks were given out for frontline health workers as a gesture to ensure their safety.

Zunheboto Battalion: Zunheboto Battalion assisted district administration in providing four synthetic water tanks for 75 bedded quarantine facility set up at Government College, Zunheboto on June 14. Representatives of the quarantine facility who expressed critical shortage of water were provided with water storage tanks, apart from potable water.

Ghaspani Battalion: With the onset of monsoon and extreme weather conditions, Ghaspani Battalion distributed umbrellas to farmers and daily wagers in Piphema town on June 15. 

Shamator Battalion: Shamator Battalion provided medical assistance to a resident of Nokyan village, Mon. The patient who sustained injury while carrying out farming activity in the field on June 13 had a severe injury to his perforator vein which led to heavy loss of blood. In an initiative to solve twin problems of frequent power cuts and lack of lighting in public areas, Shamator Battalion installed six solar street lights in Shamator village. 

Tuensang Battalion: Tuensang Battalion provided water supply for a quarantine centre established at Monyakshu border village. The effort was in continuation to the assistance provided to locals of the border villages.
