Assam Rifles conduct civic action programmes

Tuensang and Shamator battalions of Assam Rifles under its civic action programme carried out various activities in Pessao and Noklak villages.

Shamator Battalion: Shamator Battalion assisted civil administration in restoring Noklak-Tuensang road, disrupted by a landslide on July 6, owing to heavy and incessant rainfall. 
According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), the road being the only lifeline used by residents from the two towns required to be cleared urgently to facilitate vehicular movement. 
Tuensang Battalion: Tuensang Battalion organised a free medical camp at Pessao village on July 4.
According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), the aim of medical camp was to provide medical consultation and treatment to residents, especially the aged. Free medicines were provided in addition to imparting awareness about the importance of timely vaccination, personal hygiene and sanitation. Total 202 males, 199 females and 60 children benefitted from the camp.
