Assam Rifles conduct civic action programmes

Various battalions of Assam Rifles conducted civic action programmes across Nagaland for the welfare of the public.

Zunheboto Battalion: Zunheboto Battalion constructed ex-servicemen hall at Kidding Bazaar, Tuensang, which was inaugurated on July 11, following a handing over ceremony. 

According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), DIG, HQ 7 Sector Assam Rifles, inaugurated the hall and dedicated the infrastructure to ex-servicemen as welfare measure to be used for facilitating wider interest. Approximately 100 ex-servicemen of Tuensang were to benefit out of this initiative.

Jalukie battalion: Jalukie battalion conducted a wreath laying at the memorial of Capt Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, MVC (posthumous) at Sainik School, Punglwa. The bust of the martyr was unveiled at the school premise, July 15.

According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), Jalukie Battalion along with principle and faculty of Sainik School laid wreath honoring the war hero and a guard of honour was also presented on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the battalion also carried out road maintenance drive in collaboration with Athibung Town Youth Organization (ATYO), between Athibung and Saijang village road link on July 14. The drive was carried out to restore the road condition for hassle-free vehicular movement, which had been deteriorated by incessant rainfall.
