Assam Rifles conduct various activities

Various battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted activities in different districts and locations of Nagaland for the benefit of general public. 

Kohima Battalion: Kohima Battalion provided tin sheets for setting up COVID-19 facility at heritage village, Kisama, Kohima. According to PRO HQ IGAR (N) as part of the DTF & COVID control committee, the battalion has been participating in all endeavors of the civil administration in Kohima. Under Swachh Bharat initiative, Kohima Battalion also facilitated two toilet blocks for residents of ‘D’ block, Kohima. The toilet block facilities have been installed adjacent to a main road to facilitate convenience of commuters/residents. Kohima Battalion also provided tin sheets for setting up of soakage pits at the quarantine facility in Meriema and Chedema villages, Kohima. 

Shamator Battalion: To maintain quarantine facilities set up at Shamator and Noklak, Shamator Battalion has been assisting district administration in supplying potable water.

Kiphire Battalion: Kiphire Battalion felicitated master Sanskar, son of Pradeep Kumar Dubey, of Loyola School, Kiphire for securing first position in the overall merit for Nagaland state and earning an admission into Assam Rifles public school, Laitkor under NEC sponsorship scheme. 

Tuensang Battalion: Tuensang Battalion provided medical assistance to critical patients at Ranpha border village in Wangti on May 27, where spot treatment was provided by nursing assistant. Tuensang Battalion also felicitated candidates selected for Sainik School, Punglwa for academic year 2020-21 on May 29.  Meanwhile, the battalion also assisted civil administration in clearing off blockade along Chenmoho-Chenloiso road. 

Wokha Battalion: Wokha Battalion assisted district administration in setting up a quarantine facility at GHS Tseminyu, Kohima on May 26. The battalion set up 10 beds, two four men tents and provided the locals with the essential commodities. 

Mon Battalion: Mon Battalion conducted an interaction meeting with village functionaries of Lungwa on May 29. Various measures to prevent the spread of virus were highlighted by the commandant. 

Ghaspani Battalion: With critical paucity of water in maintaining 80 bedded quarantine facility set up at the Co-operative Training Centre, Medziphema, Ghaspani Battalion assisted the district administration in providing water on 29 May.
