Assam Rifles hold interaction programmes

To maintain a cordial relation with the citizens, Assam Rifles has been conducting interaction programmes across the state, enlightening the residents and village elders on various schemes and development activities. 
Wokha battalion: Wokha Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) carried out an interaction with the GBs of Tseminyu region on July 14, at Tseminyu. The aim of the interaction was to discuss issues pertaining to development and coordination required among all sections of the society for the overall progress of the region.  Altogether, 41 GBs from all neighbouring villages participated in the program.
Dimapur battalion: Dimapur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a monthly interaction with residents of Gitali village at the company operating base in Nihokhu on July 12. 
According to Assam Rifles PRO, the aim of conducting the interaction was to educate the residents about the procedures involved in availing Government Schemes for development of the village. 15 residents including the chairman and GB attended the program. 
Phek Battalion: An interaction program with village guard commanders of Pochury area at Ziphu was organized by Phek battalion of Assam Rifles on July 11. A press release from PRO HQ IGAR (N) said that the aim of the interaction was to address issues pertaining to threat calls or extortion notes from underground factions to village heads and the overall security of Pochury area. The village guard commanders offered to extend their support to ensure foolproof security in cooperation with the Assam Rifles and also motivate more youth of the villages to join the security forces.
