Assam Rifles launch operations on illegal activities

Assam Rifles has launched operations as part of the ongoing crackdown to prevent illegal activities in various parts of the state. 

Assam Rifles on June 17 seized IMFL in general area Kushiabil, Dimapur. According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), based on specific intelligence regarding consignment of contraband, troops of Assam Rifles apprehended Tokiyo Sumi, age 24 year, r/o Kushiabil village. Recoveries assorted liquor amounting to Rs 2, 20, 000/-. The apprehended individual along with seized liquor was handed over to East police station, Dimapur for further investigation. 

Assam Rifles in another operation apprehended three drug peddlers near Chedema village in Kohima district on June 16. The apprehended individuals have been identified as Neikuo Toshi, age 30 years, r/o Lower T Khel; Seyiekhrielie Zao, age 33 years, r/o Jail Colony and Theja Mere, age 31 years, r/o Lower Bayavu Hill, Kohima district. During the operation the troops also recovered one point 22 mm pistol, two point 22 mm rounds of ammunition and approximately 15 gms of brown sugar amounting to Rs. 1,50,000/-. The apprehended persons along with recovered items have been handed over to North Police Station, Kohima for further investigations.
