Assembly passes two Bills

The fourth session of 13th NLA passed two Bills –Amity University Nagaland Act, 2011 (Repeal) Bill, 2019 and Nagaland Protection of Interests of Depositors (In Financial Establishments) (Amendment) Bill 2018 – on its concluding day on Thursday.

Leader of the house and chief minister Neiphiu Rio, who is in charge of finance portfolio, had moved the Nagaland Protection of Interests of Depositors (In Financial Establishments) (Amendment) Bill 2018, while H&TE minister Temjen Imna Along moved the Amity University Nagaland, Act 2011 (Repeal) Bill, 2019 on Tuesday. After consideration of the Bills, NLA speaker Vikho-o Yhoshu put these up for vote.

Assembly committee reports were tabled by Committee on Public Undertakings chairman Dr Neikiesalie Nicky, while Committee on Estimate (2019-2020) chairman Dr Longrineken presented a copy each on 132nd report on action taken on the observation and the recommendation contained in its 125th report pertaining to school education department (RMSA), 133rd report on the estimates on the examination of health & family welfare department (NRHM), 134th report  on action taken on observation and recommendation contained in its 126th report on estimate of horticulture department and 135th report on action taken on the observation and recommendation contained in its 131st report pertaining to veterinary and animal husbandry department.

NLA adjourned sine die

NLA Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshu Thursday adjourned the Assembly Session sine die following the conclusion of the scheduled businesses of the fourth session of the 13th NLA.
