Assessment camps for CWSN

Assessment camps for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) were conducted at EBRC hall Kiphire on May 22 and Mokokchung village on May 18, in collaboration with Starkey New Delhi, medical department and Social Welfare departments. 

Organized by district mission authority (DMA) Kiphire, children with visually impairment, locomotors disability, hearing impairment problems attended the camp. 

According to DIPR report, assistive devices were provided to all the special needs children as per their needs after the assessment camp. Deputy mission director, SSA Talitemsu Jamir in his short speech called upon all the beneficiaries to utilize their assistive devices with care. Around 100 children with special needs received their assistive devices on the spot.  The official team for the camp was led by Talitemsu Jamir deputy mission director, SSA, Vijay Bushan Starkey, New Delhi, Wati Jamir NRRC Dimapur, Manen Jamir technician, SSA, C. Chemhokyu ophthalmic asst. Medical Kiphire and M. Yangse CDPO. The camp was chaired by Lichumse Sangtam asst. district coordinator SSA Kiphire and DPRO Kiphire, K. Zeliang invoked God’s blessing. 

Mokokchung: In Mokokchung, the camp was conducted at EBRC Mokokchung village with an objective to provide assistive devices to the needy children. 

Altogether, 107 children were assessed out of which 46 of them have been prescribed for aids and appliances. Hearing aids from Star Key Foundation were provided on the spot to the needy children during the inaugural programme. Tali Jamir, Dy. Mission Director, State Mission Authority delivered key note address followed by welcome address by Sademmongla, District Education Officer, Mokokchung. 

The programme was chaired by Imkongwabang, Project Assistant, DMA, Mokokchung and invocation by Saku Lkr, Opthalmic Asst. IMDH, Mokokchung.
