ASU rejects result for grade III appointments

DIMAPUR, JUN 9 (NPN) | Publish Date: 6/9/2019 11:52:40 AM IST

Angami Students’ Union (ASU) said it strongly objects and unequivocally rejects the results declared for appointments to grade III posts of Nagaland Judicial Service through a notification issued by Gauhati High Court on March 14, 2019.

In a press statement, ASU president Vizokho Zashumo and general secretary Petekhrietuo Kiewhuo said the advertisement mentioned that the policy of reservation would be as per the Nagaland Judicial Service Rules, 2006 (as amended and read with Government of Nagaland notification no. RCBT-5/87/ (Pt.II) dated 14th April 2011) that stipulated 25% of all categories of both Gazetted and non-Gazetted posts to six tribes of Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire and Longleng.

Further, they said 12% reservation would be made for the tribes of Chakhesang, Pochury, Zeliang and Sumi of Kiphire district with a roster maintained for the said posts.

But alleging that all norms of official protocol and conventional processes were violated, the union said it was evident that the selection process and the selected list were a total farce. As such, it announced that it was not in a position to accept the declared results.

And until such time a fair and transparent modality of recruitment was not considered for recruitment against these posts, ASU said the result should be considered null and void.

Angami Students’ Union hoped that good sense would prevail so as to avoid all unnecessary hassles.
