ATMA conducts farming activities at Chizami, Noksen

ATMA Phek Chizami block conducted training and demonstration on importance of horticulture crops at Chizami village on August 16. 

A press release from ATMA Chizami block stated that, Sentinunba Longchar, Horticulture officer and BTT convener ATMA Chizami block was the resource person. He highlighted about the scope and importance of horticultural crops and the need for farmers to produce enough to meet the demands within their region and capture the local market. 
Farmers were made aware of the cultivation practices and nutritive values of persimmon and coffee. Pest and disease management was demonstrated on the farm. Farmers’ groups were also mobilised and seed money was handed over to the SHGs during the programme. Two SHGs along with one progressive farmer attended the programme.
ATMA Tuensang: ATMA Tuensang, Noksen Block, conducted training, demonstration and inauguration of farm school programme at Noksen town and Noksen village on August 17.  
A press release from ATMA, stated that resource persons of the programme were BTM, Suponglemla Chang, ATM, Tangekeiba, ATM, Wetosangla and ATM, Ajungla Aier, Noksen block. The resource person of the programme spoke on poultry farming, integrated nutrient management (INM), NADEP composting method, pit manuring of mandarin orange and mulching of ginger bed.
During the inauguration programme of Ginger Farm School, ATM Wetosangla, highlighted the concept of Farm School. Moshayemjong was appointed as farm teacher with ten other progressive farmers as farm student. 
Meanwhile, a training programme was also conducted on the topic “functioning of farmers group”.  Altogether 35 farmers from four villages along with ATMA functionaries attended the programme.
