Unknown miscreants have reportedly attempted robbery at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA)’s administrative block and ransacked the rooms.

In a press release, KPA principal Er. M Nakro said the incident occurred following the first phase of students’ admission which concluded on June 21, adding that the incident could have taken place either on June 22 or June 23 as it was noticed only in the morning hour of June 24.

According to Er. Nakro, the latest incident was not a fresh or an unfamiliar incident, but it has been happening time and again. Even during regular semester sessions, Nakro said the faculty and students have always been under the threat of being robbed. “It is very demoralizing to state that such antisocial beings have no remorse stealing even utensils and undergarments of others,” he said.

Nakro pointed out that KPA is on the verge being upgraded to degree level, where the institute has to fulfil many criteria, infrastructure being one of them.

He said the government was tirelessly working to fulfil those criteria, but time and again damaging of government properties, constant theft of laboratory equipment was so rampant that upgradation was far from being materialized practically.

In this regard, the principal said the authority has pursued for land settlement many times in order to provide proper security and boundary so as to thwart such antisocial elements and to provide a healthy educational environment, but to no avail.

KPA principal also said several appeals have been made to the government for police outpost in the institute, but so far nothing has been materialized.

The principal has called upon all right thinking citizens to condemn such act and also requested the responsible authority to bring the culprits to book at the earliest.
