Awardee teachers to be assessed

Director of School Education Wonthongo Tsopoe on Friday said that staring this year, the department will be assessing every teacher awardees including the past awardees in the state to measure their contribution. 

He also said that a meeting would be convened for teacher awardees (2010 or 2012) to know their vision for education system in the state.  

The director revealed this while addressing the gathering at the Kohima district teachers’ award ceremony held at conference hall, District Education Office here on Friday. 

He said awardees’ badge will also be issued to the teachers as a sign of recognition. 

The director also reminded the gathering that the award will be based on require criteria and not on region or district wise. 

Highlighting the criteria of awardees, he said teachers have to think and work outside the box with sincerity, devotion, dedication and regularity to receive the award.   

Congratulating the awardees, he reminded teachers that they were selected out of thousand others in the district and therefore urged them not to be complacent with the award but be an example. He also advised the teachers to be a good guide, mentor, counsellor and motivator. 

DC Kohim, Gregory Thejawelie in his address congratulated the awardees for their dedication towards children’s education. He encouraged awardees to aim higher for state and national awards and challenged them to be shining examples. 

SDEO Chiephobozou Pelhouvolie and SDEO Tseminyu Yhunyule Kent also addressed the gathering. 

Altogether, 12 teachers including four teachers from the private schools received the award, namely: Vituohulie Yhome L/T P. U.  diploma in Tenyiedie Rüzhükhrie GHSS Kohima;  Kikhrukhrieto Nakhro L/T P. U.  diploma in Tenyiedie John GHSS Viswema;  Tosovi  Philip Khale, G/T M. SC. B. Ed. GHS PWD Kohima; Neikuosielie P. E. T, B. A B. P.  Ed GHS Mezoma; Kikhrukhrie- ü Yhome P/T P. U.  ISTE GHS High School area Kohima; Ketouvo ü Nagi,  P/T P. U.  ISTE GPS upper Jotsoma; Kiviholi T. Yeptho G/T ,B. A,  B. Ed. GMS Merhülietsa;  Kathi Rengma,  G/T  B. A. B. Ed. GHS Kandinu;  Mezhülhoutuo-ü Solo assistant teacher B. A. Khedi Baptist Higher Secondary School Kohima; Vinod K.P. assistant teacher M.Com. B.Ed , LLB. St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School Kohima; Temsurenla Longkumer  assistant teacher M.A., B.Ed. Chandmari Higher Secondary School Kohima and Indra Bahadur Khabas assistant headmaster B.Sc. Modern Academy Kohima.   

The programme chaired by DEO Kohima Y. Mary Zhimomi began with an invocation by AEO, SDEO office Kohima Neilhousienuo.
