Awareness camp on FMB

Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, conducted awareness camp on Fertility Management in Bovine (FMB) on September 12. 

The camp was conducted  under “National Programme for Bovine Breeding (NPBB) 2018-19” for five villages under Chiephobozou Block, with progressive farmers of dairy at Women Society Hall, Chiephobozou. 
A press release from VFA, veterinary dispensary, Chiephobozou, Neiselie, stated that resource person, VAS, veterinary dispensary Chiephobozou, Dr. Vikuolie Mezhatsu, deliberated on importance of artificial insemination in dairy cattle. 
He also emphasized on site selection of dairy farm, different housing systems, normal reproductive cycle and method of heat detection along with care and management of pregnant animals. The programme was chaired by VFA, veterinary dispensary Chiephobozou, Neiselie and invocation by deacon, Chiephobozou Baptist Church Kiyawelie. 
CVO Kohima, Dr. Joseph M Angami, exhorted the farmers to take up dairy farming seriously through proper planning and also spoke on the avenues for increasing milk production and its marketing. 
Further, Chiephobozou Town Council GB, Rüduokho, acknowledged the department for conducting awareness camp and also urged the department to extend help and support to the farmers in the coming days.
