Awareness programme on road safety held in Wokha

Wokha District Legal Services Authority (WDLSA) in collaboration with District Transport Office (DTO) and Wokha Traffic Police (WTP) organized a legal awareness programme on road safety at deputy commissioner conference hall, Wokha on May 15.

According to DIPR report, EAC (J), Wokha, Imtinungla Longkumer, addressing the awareness function lauded the WDLSA and other line departments for organizing such programme to spread awareness and sensitizing the public about road safety and traffic related issues. 

She said that it was important for consumers of automobile to have awareness and to know the rules and regulations when it came to road safety.

OC Wokha Traffic, Y. Anito Sema, motor vehicle officer, Masetshilong Longkumer and advocate Meribemo A Lotha, panel lawyer, WDLSA apprised the gathering about the Importance of Traffic Rules & Regulations, Vehicle Registration, Driving Licensee Procurement, Road Safety and Motor Accident Claim Tribunal.

The function was chaired by advocate Shanchobeni P Lotha panel lawyer, WDLSA while vote of thanks was proposed by advocate Renbonthung Tsanglao, panel lawyer, WDLSA. 

The programme was attended by representatives from all commercial vehicle association Wokha, Taxi Union, Lotha Eloe Hoho and various stakeholders.
