Awareness programme on Sakhi-OSC at Zunheboto

Sakhi-One Stop Centre (OSC) Zunheboto conducted awareness programme on Sakhi-One Stop Centre and Women Helpline 181 in six (6) higher secondary schools in Zunheboto from April 24 to May 11. 

According to DIPR report, the programme was conducted to increase knowledge and awareness among women and children of their legal rights, protection, care and responsibilities.

According to its centre administrator, Alovini Yeptho, Sakhi-OSC was launched by Ministry of Women and Children, Government of India to cater to women affected by violence in different walks of life and that speedy and hassle free services will be provided for aggrieved women. She further said that the helpline no. 181 is open 24X7. She spoke on prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006 and the effects of child marriage.

The schools where awareness campaign was conducted included Olympic Higher Secondary School, Love Dale Higher Secondary School, Corner Stone Higher Secondary School, Woodland Higher Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School and Immanuel Higher Secondary School.
